Break the Loop: Redefine Your Past, Elevate Your Future

Own Where You Came From

Do you ever find it hard to embrace your past? Maybe it feels disconnected, like it doesn’t belong to your current journey. Yet, every step you’ve taken has made you stronger.

Here’s the truth: your past is an asset - something to honor, not hide. But the key is making sure it doesn’t dictate your future.

Let me explain.

We have about 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts per day, and 90% of these thoughts are the same as the day before. When we repeat the same thoughts, we repeat the past. Technically, yesterday is your past, and if you’re recycling 90% of those same thoughts, you end up recreating the same life.

Think about it: nothing will change, or maybe just 10%. But you’ve got big dreams, goals, and plans to manifest. You don’t have time to live in a loop, right?

In EVOKE (my framework), one of the first steps is revisiting your roots and understanding your backstory. Once we’ve come to terms with our past, that’s when we can truly begin to create the present and future narrative we desire.

Embrace Your Unique Path

Success isn’t about fitting in or blending with others. It’s about uncovering what makes you different, bold, and extraordinary. It’s about unlearning the sameness we’ve been taught and stepping into the person we’re truly meant to be.

When I ask clients to set goals, they often aim for what feels realistic - it’s safe. But when I encourage them to dream bigger, to imagine a life without limits, that’s when the real magic happens. Their vision expands. That’s the life they’re meant to pursue, even if it feels a little out of reach.

Why are our goals often smaller than our dreams?

Because we’ve been conditioned to underestimate ourselves. We play it safe, holding back from truly believing in what we can create.

Let’s Dive Deeper:

  • Where were you born, and how does your birthplace shape how you see yourself today?

  • What was happening in the world when you were born? Reflect on cultural shifts, trends, or events that may have impacted your early years.

  • How did your family dynamics influence you? Were you the peacemaker, the rebel, or the one who held everyone together?

  • Finally, what kind of personality and innate superpowers were you born with?

Take a moment and weave these reflections into your personal narrative.

Your Story

Understanding where you come from, the era you were born into, and your role in your family is key to unlocking who you are today. How you grew up, the responsibilities you carried, and the natural talents you were born with shape how you live, work, and move through the world. Your hidden superpowers are waiting to be rediscovered - and they hold the key to elevating your future.

Now, It’s Time to Step Forward

Your past, no matter how complex, is the foundation of your growth. By embracing it fully, you gain the clarity and strength to shape the future you truly want, by honoring your story. So, take this moment to stop underestimating yourself.

Break the loop. Your dreams are waiting for you to believe in them - and in yourself.

How Do You Break the Loop?

Now that you’ve accepted and embraced your narrative, it’s time to start setting new habits to create new thoughts - because your thoughts shape your future. The goal here is simple: awareness. Once you become aware of your thoughts, you can begin to swap out the old, tired ones for fresh, energizing ones.

Start by paying attention. Whenever a repetitive, draining thought shows up, simply say to yourself: REFRESH. This subtle cue encourages a mental reset and invites new, empowering thoughts in.

To make this shift even more effective, begin incorporating small changes into your daily life. Create a new morning routine, take a different route to work, listen to a podcast you’ve never heard before, try a new coffee brand or breakfast. The goal is to stay alert - to catch those repeating patterns and break the cycle of depleting thoughts.

Trust me, these small shifts add up.

So, go ahead, try it - and thank me later! I’d love to hear how your week begins to brighten and shift as you embrace this fresh mindset. Send me a note and let me know how it goes.
